Karoly Nikolich, is executive director and chairman of the Neuroscience Institute at Stanford. Prior to joining Stanford, Professor Nikolich worked in the biotechnology industry for over 22 years. He founded AGY Therapeutics, a company focused on new therapeutics of central nervous system diseases, after serving as vice president of research at Lynx Therapeutics, Inc., a technology-based genomics company. Before AGY, he worked at Genentech, Inc. for 12 years, where he initiated, established and directed Genentech's neuroscience research program and led and participated in preclinical and clinical development programs. Dr. Nikolich has authored over 120 scientific publications, was an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California, has organized and chaired symposia, and has been an advisor to various scientific and funding organizations. Dr. Nikolich is a graduate of Eotvos University in Budapest, Hungary, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Tulane University as well as a visiting scholarship at the University of California, San Francisco
